Skylight U values

    Message # 13519165

Afternoon all, I am working with some of our FenCan skylight member suppliers. i have received inquiries about what is being spec'd for skylight U values? Are those values lumped into the same as the windows, or does the modeling include skylights and provide specific U values to complement the windows? Any insight into skylight performance and how they are dealt with is helpful. Thanks,

Energy Star for new Homes looks for "ENERGY STAR Zone 2".  Meaning Version 4.0 UV1.4/ER29 listed previously. (Prescriptive path core bop Ontario)

The minimum general states: Skylights shall be ENERGY STAR certified for the climate zone in which they are installed.*

    Ontario SB12 - skylights Maximum U-Value 2.8 (and no ER)(Prescriptive path)

If you need documentation Terry email me angela@truezero.ca

*Obviously there are new nuances now since version 4.0 is gone and no one is testing and adding windows to it and than Version 5.0 is almost done and doesn't refer to zones.  Its a tricky situation.  Also nothing about SHGC.  Codes coming up are looking at it.

NBC tiers I'd have to go look.
