Anyone having issues with the latest HP Calculator crashing when you put an AHRI number in?  Asking for a colleague... the same file pulled from the same source works fine for me.    Thanks

Yes, Scott in our office has the same problem. It crashes for hime every time, he can't even use it. Has anyone contacted NRCan about this?

Hey! Yes I feel quite vindicated seeing this post; it has been an issue for me that has persisted throughout every single version that NRCAN has pushed and I have not been able to ever get the sheet to work.

I unblock it, I enable macros, and as soon as I click "Import Data" it crashes.

I'm the only one in the office with this issue and nobody else who I've spoken to has experienced it.

Did you ever find a workaround?

Scott has been in communication with our SO and NRCan Technical Support. As of now the only solution being presented is to uninstall Excel, then reinstall it. We'll let you know how it goes.

I've been experiencing this issue since early 2024 after purchasing a new Dell laptop, and my SO has also contacted NRCan about the issue.

A workaround that works for me is switching the 'Calculation Options' in the Formulas tab to 'Manual' before entering the AHRI number and clicking the 'Import Data' button. Once the data from the heat pump has been imported, Excel automatically reverts back to 'Automatic' mode. Therefore, I have to change it back to 'Manual'; otherwise, if I click on any other cell in Excel, it will freeze again.

Uninstalling and reinstalling Excel doesn't fix the issue. I've also spent over five hours speaking with technical support from both Dell and Microsoft to troubleshoot the issue. Unfortunately, both companies blame each other for the problem and are unable to provide a solution.

Let me know if I  need to reach out to NRCan.  I did send an email to a contact when this was first raised.

Me too!! This NRCan HP calculator file has had issues. all year.

I am using Windows 11 and a new, less than a month old, Acer laptop.
I run Excel 365 home, with the calculator located in ../One Drive/ because Microsoft says the Excel has to be located in their Cloud for live Saving to work as required.

We were able to open the March edition using an older Windows 10, but it has stopped since MS puller support and made the operating system a mess. I have tried 4 other computers without success, it crashes on all of them.

My partner is a VBA macro coder and says "it looks like the file is suffering from a paranoid level of protection. This is serious CSIS / CRA level disfunction." I was hoping my SO would take it seriously, but they Gaslight me with "You are the only one". Bullshit! This problem goes back to late 2024 and needs correction.
