Modelling a home design with two levels partially under ground

I am working on some (walk up) 3 storey homes where two storeys are fully underground at the back and graded down at the sides. The first floor contains the garage and main entry and narrow foyer with stairs up to the second (main) floor.

Has anyone got a good way of modelling this archetype in HOT2000. I'm at a loss as to the best way of doing it.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Nick,
Sounds like you'll have to go through the walk out procedures and do an addition wall height average calculation to include both floors as one. Hopefully that will work without reaching max wall height entry in H2K.

Hi Nick, as David mentioned, combine the two levels (and the joist space between them) that have a significant amount of below-grade wall as one level and treat that as a basement. You might even include the joist space above the second level too if a lot of it is below-grade.

But, rather than using Hot2000's Walkout feature, you should use Appendix C of the ERS Hot2000 User Guide to model the walkout.

    Stan
