    Hey everyone

I'm looking to buy blower door equipment. Can anyone suggest the best way to calibrate/maintain my testing equipment in Alberta?

Also, I'm shopping for either the Minneapolis model 3 or the Retrotec 5000 series. Can anyone make suggestions either way?

    Cheers

Perhaps contact either Retrotec or TEC (Minneapolis) directly.  They both offer CACEA members 10% discount on equipment.

I have never used Rototech. Only the Minneapolis model 3, Duct blaster, with a DG-700 and DG-1000. I would recommend the TEC systems without hesitation.

The normal process for the TEC (Minneapolis BD) equipment is that you have to mail it in to the manufacturer for calibration. I just saw recently that the DG1000 gauge from TEC only needs to be calibrated every 4 years now. Sorry don't know more about Retrotec.

Have you reviewed their website for calibration methods?

    https://energyconservatory.com/calibration-repair/

I know Air Solutions Inc. does calibration of the meters here in Cambridge (sometimes EAs ship them too us if they have a backup meter) but if they are out of calibration they need to go back to the Minneapolis for a true calibration.

www.airsolutions.ca is also the Canadian supplier of Minneapolis.  Contact Jessica@airsolutions.ca for pricing.

Oh thanks! I didn't know this existed.

    Is that Cambridge Ontario?

Thanks for the advice! What's the difference between the 700 and the 1000? Is one more appropriate for different situations>?

The DG-700 hundred manual and the DG-1000 can be automated and has Bluetooth and wifi.

The Energy Conservatory has stopped making the DG700.

Also, regarding calibration, if you check your ERS procedures closely you are supposed to have your equipment calibrated on a regular basis.
