    Hello Everyone,

I am curious to know that how much time does it take for everyone to model windows in HOT 2000? Is there any trick there so that we can make that process faster. It's tedious work for me. I will really appreciate your help if I can save even 5-10 minutes with your tricks or techniques.

I would recommend saving favorites of your most common drop down selections and then also using duplicate to populate the next/additional windows.

Are you aware that you can go to the summary view and highlight them all at once and change them all at the same time?

It's one of the reason I try to stick to drop down menus.  When you use user specified codes you can not do them all at once this way.

Yes, I use summary tab. And we can select same type of windows all together. And that summary tab is also helpful for upgrading windows. But the problem is that before that we need to enter direction, number, windowss dimensions. And to enter them from DCF for 25-30 windows is kind of a headache for me.

Windows can take a lot of time for sure.  Tab let’s you jump fields. I have my left hand on tab, right hand on number pad. I use window names that let me easily know what I can duplicate. Still, windows just take time. Deep breath, fresh coffee :)

I literally leave them until last on almost every model I do.  It's the most tedious part.

What Angela said is also what I try to do, keep to red codes so you can mass edit the code in the summary view.

Does everyone have to build up their own window code database when they start as an EA?  I'm working on my 2 supervised probationary files using H2K v11.11b35.  Most of the windows are vinyl double clear metal spacer 13mm air sliders, with a few picture windows.  I can't find a built-in window code to match either window.

Unless you get a copy of someone else's code library you will have to start saving your own. For a case like this I would use the drop down lists. And if you find yourself using the same drop down sets you can save them as favourites.
