Most moisture problems in a building assembly don't come from vapour diffusion — they come from air leakage. This 90-minute session, part of CACEA's High Performance Series, clears up that confusion and the terminology around it: vapour barrier versus air barrier, what "breathable" really means, and when a vapour barrier must be sealed rather than simply lapped. A facilitator-led presentation and expert panel cover regional and seasonal vapour drive, the science of moisture movement, and the materials that make up vapour control layers, working through above-grade, below-grade and attic assemblies.
