This is the fifth webinar on NRCan's proposed code changes.

As an EA it is important to be aware of upcoming code changes, how they will impact your work, and how you can get involved in making them better.

Alex Bols, Senior Technical Advisor, Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA), and Mark Rosen MEA, Director of Building Science, Building Knowledge Canada - both of whom are actively involved with the building code standing committees, will provide an update on what’s proposed to be included in the NBC 2025.

The session will review upcoming changes to the code review process, including but not limited to:

  • PCF 1979 (future-adapted climatic data)
  • PCF 1980 (specified wind & snow loads)
  • PCF 2018 (NECB updated climatic data)
  • PCF 2032 (AEB, heat transfer, air leakage, and condensation control requirements)
  • PCF 2033 (AEB, ventilation requirements)
  • PCF 2042 (Tier 1 prescriptive package)
  • PCF 2048 (Specified wind & snow loads in Part 9)
  • PCF 2051 (Appendix note for PCF 2032)
  • PCF 2061 (Overheating in new dwelling units)
