The Integrated Design Process (IDP) is a highly collaborative approach aimed at achieving sustainable (low energy, low carbon) practices and outcomes for both new construction and existing homes. It ensures the delivery of affordable, durable, and healthy homes for Canadians. CACEA is offering an interactive, hands-on training program that provides information about the IDP with a notable focus on facilitation skills, equipping to lead and effectively guide this important process.

TRAINING CONTENT

DAY 1: Overview of the IDP; Documentation and Logistics; General Facilitation Skills

DAY 2: Marketing the IDP; Interactive Facilitation Skills

DAY 3 (within a month of Day 2): Demonstrate IDP Understanding and Facilitation Skills

Includes: 2 days IDP and Facilitation training; student-led session demonstrating facilitation skills and an understanding of the IDP; “IDP Handbook”; a certificate of completion (must complete full program). In-person training includes breakfast, lunch, and breaks.

Cancellation Policy: There are no cancellations as of 10 business days prior to the training date.

NOTE:. British Columbia residents are eligible for a $2,500 in-person or $1,800 virtual subsidy courtesy of Fortis BC.

MEET THE INSTRUCTORS

Emma Conway

E3 Eco Group

Emma graduated from the University of Victoria with a B.A. in Geography, majoring in Urban Development Studies and minoring in Environmental Studies. Drawing from this experience, she now leads the E3 Part 9 team, working as an EA to facilitate IDP sessions and deliver Step Code, EnerGuide, Energy Star for New Homes, NetZero, and Built Green Programs. She is passionate about energy efficiency, building better buildings, and the opportunity to continue learning and sharing knowledge in a rapidly changing industry. 


Einar Halbig MEA

E3 Eco Group

Einar has 25+ years of education and experience in residential construction, specializing in practical solutions to make houses more efficient, safe, and comfortable. As an EA, he has evaluated 1000s of new and existing homes across the Lower Mainland and led many IDP sessions. As a CACEA MEA and board member, he is a trusted partner and advisor to the industry-at-large, bringing his engineering background, technical sales expertise, and hands-on experience to everything he does. Einar is an EA and building science instructor. He completed a deep-green energy retrofit of his own house and now enjoys its many benefits.



CACEA CEC = 20 CEC (full program completion required). Partial CECs will not be issued.
