Recent trends in residential roof design include modern flat roofs, vaulted ceilings and classic mansard designs. Ventilating these compact roof systems can be tricky and one wrong step in design or construction can lead to significant moisture problems.

In this presentation, Trevor Trainor, President, Building Science Specialist, Bawating Building Science, will discuss the different factors affecting roof ventilation and also when and why an unvented design may be a better choice.
