Small Housing is a non-profit organization that supports the evolution of single-family neighbourhoods to provide ground-oriented homes, equitable for all that supports innovation in housing policy, planning, finance, design and construction.
Join David Sisk and Dan Winer to learn more about this organization and its efforts to promote gentle density housing – starting in first British Columbia and later moving across the country. They will provide a scan of the current policy landscape—particularly the impacts of the Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF) and Bill 44—which together catalyze a province-wide shift toward small-scale multi-unit housing (SSMUH) creating an opportunity for more homeowner-led and modestly scaled developments but challenging the ability to deliver high-performance buildings at scale.
David and Dan will also facilitate an interactive discussion on an EAs role and helpful supports needed to contribute to this space. This is an evolving space and an opportunity for EAs to be part of the strategy and successful delivery of gentle densification projects.
